Esau and Jacob

Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah. They couldn't have any children. They where very sad. Isaac prayed very hard. Many years later, Rebekah gave birth to twin boys. They were very happy. They named the boys Esau and Jacob. Esau became a hunter and travelled all over the countryside hunting wild animals. Jacob became a shepherd. He stayed home and cared for sheep and goats.
Their father, Isaac, liked Esau best. Rebekah's favourite was Jacob. One day, Jacob was cooking some stew. Esau came home very hungry. He asked Jacob for some stew. Jacob agreed to give only if Esau gave him his birthright. Esau had the birthright because he was born first.
Esau was very hungry so he did not bother about his birthright. Finally, he gave up his birthright. Jacob was very happy. He scooped out a bowlful of stew for Esau. ( Genesis 25 )

  3. Hi Venus66, I read your moving poem about the loss of a child. My neice also lost a child a few hours after its birth. She has a blogspot you might find interesting and a kinship with.
