Esau and Jacob

Isaac was 40 years old when he married Rebekah. They couldn't have any children. They where very sad. Isaac prayed very hard. Many years later, Rebekah gave birth to twin boys. They were very happy. They named the boys Esau and Jacob. Esau became a hunter and travelled all over the countryside hunting wild animals. Jacob became a shepherd. He stayed home and cared for sheep and goats.
Their father, Isaac, liked Esau best. Rebekah's favourite was Jacob. One day, Jacob was cooking some stew. Esau came home very hungry. He asked Jacob for some stew. Jacob agreed to give only if Esau gave him his birthright. Esau had the birthright because he was born first.
Esau was very hungry so he did not bother about his birthright. Finally, he gave up his birthright. Jacob was very happy. He scooped out a bowlful of stew for Esau. ( Genesis 25 )

Isaac And Rebekah

Isaac grew up and soon became a man and wanted to be married. Issac's father told his servant to find a wife for Isaac. Abraham told his servant to go to the town of Nahor and there God will guide him.
So, the servant and his ten camels went to Nahor. There, he stopped by a well. He prayed that God will show him the woman who should be Isaac's wife. Just then, a woman appeared and gave him a drink. She also gave all his thirsty camels a drink too. After that, the servant asked her if he can meet her family. She agreed and on their way home, she told him about her family. Just then, he knew that she was the one for Isaac.
Abraham's servant met her whole family and told, that he came to help Abraham's son find a wife. He said that, he prayed and God guided him to Rebekah. Rebekah's father asked if she wants to marry Isaac. She said 'Yes' and they went back to Canaan with Abraham.
Finally, Isaac and Rebekah got married. ( Genesis 24 )

Isaac is born

Long ago God had said that Abram would have a family. Abram was 99 years old and Sarai was 89 years old but they still had no children.
One day, God appeared to Abram and told him to obey and follow God's ways. God promised would make Abram great. Abram's new name was Abraham and Sarai's name was Sarah. Abraham means "Father of many." Abraham said to himself, that he was too old to become "parents of many."
God said, it would happen as he had promised. Sarah would have a son and his name would be Isaac. Isaac would serve God and God would bless him.
God's promise was true. Sarah was 90 years old when she gave birth to a baby boy. They named him Isaac. God had been too good to them. ( Genesis 17; 21 )

Abram and his nephew

Abram, Sarai and their nephew, Lot lived in the land of Canaan. They had many animals and tents. They were rich. They had their own workers.
One day, Lot's workers and Abram's workers argued about the land(space) taken among them. Abram suggested to spread out the land. He told Lot to take whatever land he wanted. Lot quickly chose the land with green grass, stream and pond. Abram was left with the hills.
One day, God told him to look around the land. He promised that, one day Abram, his children and grandchildren will become the owner of the land.
Then, Abram hiked his land. Finally, he decided to live near Hebron. There was a big oak tree. Soon after, Abram and Sarai set up their tents. Abram built an alter to worship God. ( Genesis 13 )

Abram and Sarai

There, lived a man named Abram with his wife named Sarai. Both of them believed in God very much. They were old and had no children.
One day, God told them to go to a new land. God promised that, Abram and Sarai will have a child. Their child will have a family too. God said, one day their family will fill up the whole country.

God showed the way. They packed their things. They put on camels and donkeys. They walked hundreds of miles with God's guidance.
Their cousin by the name of Lot, followed them. Many workers followed them too. Finally, they reached to a land called Canaan. God told them that Canaan is the new land. So Abram and Sarai set up their tents and started to worship God. ( Genesis 12 )

The flood

After the boat was ready, God said it was going to rain soon. God told Noah to gather two of every kind of animal and take them all with him on the ark. Noah, his family and the animals went into the ark. God shut the door.
Soon after, the rain started to pour heavily. It rained for a long time. After forty days and nights the earth was under water but the ark floated.
Finally, the rain stopped. Everyone in the world drowned except for the people and animals on the ark. Noah and his family waited for a long time for the water to go down.
At last, the ark rested on top of a mountain. After the water had dried, Noah opened the door. The people and animals ran out happily. Noah thanked God. God was very glad. God promised never to flood the earth again. To remind people of his promise, God set a beautiful rainbow in the sky.

( Genesis 6 - 9 )

Noah's Boat

Adam and Eve grew old and died. They left many children behind. Their children grew up and got married too. Soon, the world was full of people. Most of the people were very bad. They liked to hurt each other. God was very sad. He decided to flood the whole world.
There lived a good man by the name of Noah. He loved God very much. God didn't want to punish Noah and his family. God told Noah to build a huge boat as protection from the flood. Noah agreed.
Noah and his family worked very hard. They chopped some trees and made into boards. Finally, they put the boards together and made a boat. It was called an Ark. Noah's family and many animals would fit inside the huge Ark. ( Genesis 6 )

The First Sin

Adam and Eve lived happily in a beautiful garden of Eden. There were many fruit trees. There were many juicy and crunchy fruits too. Unfortunatelly, a satan came to the garden. He didn't like to see Adam and Eve live happily.
He disguised as a snake. The snake asked Eve, if God told them not to eat the fruits in the garden. Eve told him that god allowed them to eat any fruit except the fruits from one particular tree.
"It is really silly", hissed the snake. The snake told Eve that, God didn't allow them to eat the fruit because if they eat that fruit, they will know as much as God.
Eve thought for a while and finally had a small bite of the fruit. Then, she gave it to Adam. Soon after, they knew they had done something wrong. They tried to hide from God but God found them. God asked, why did they eat the fruit. Eve told that, she was tricked by the snake. God was very sad. Finally, Adam and Eve had to leave the garden of Eden forever.
( Genesis 3 )

God Made Everything

There was nothing in the beginning. So God made the world. The world was very dark. Then, God gave the light. But, it was very empty. So God made the blue beautiful sky. Then, God said, " Let there be land, seas and plants". The day was very bright and beautiful.
When the night came, the sky was very dark. So God made the moon and stars. They shone brightly.
God felt the earth was very quiet. So he made the birds and fish. The birds flew freely and the fish swam happily.
The land was very green and fresh. The plants and flowers grew beautifully. But, there was no animal. So God made many kinds of animals.
God was very glad that he made everything. But, he wanted someone to take care of the earth. So God took some mud and made it into a man. God gave him life and named him, Adam. Then, God made a woman from Adams rib. Adam named her, Eve.
Finally, everything was done.
The blue sky, the land, the bright moon and the stars, the blue seas, the green plants, the wonderful animals and the responsible people.
God smiled happily. ( Genesis 1 - 2 )
